Diyavini Ella Falls

Diyawini Falls is about 60 m (197 ft) high and is a tributary of the Diyavini River, which lies in the village of Diyawinna in the town of Balangoda in the Ratnapura District.

The tributary joins another stream formed by the Diyavini River and flows into the Walawe River.Nearby are the Devagiri Vihare (temple) and an ancient Dagoba (Buddhist shrine) overgrown by the jungle 8 km east of Balangoda and south Vikiliya in Ratnapura district in Sabaragamuwa province of Sri Lanka.

How to get to Diyavini Ella Falls

Diyawinna area can be reached after traveling about 30km on the Balangoda-Kapugala road. From Godakawela town on the Ratnapura-Embilipitiya main road turn towards Weligepola and proceed to Diyawinna. To reach the foot of the waterfall, one has to go to the Devagiri Cave Temple in Diyawinna village and climb the hill where the waterfall is located along the footpath at the foot of the temple.
